BTS Members Begin Military Service

Jungkook and V Enlist, Other Members to Follow

WEB Jungkook, the vocalist, dancer, and youngest member of BTS, has enlisted in the South Korean military. He began his service on December 12, 2023, and is expected to return in June 2025. V, another member of BTS, also enlisted in December 2023 and is expected to return in June 2025.

Jungkook announced his enlistment in a letter posted on Weverse, a South Korean social media platform. In the letter, he expressed his gratitude to his fans and promised to return safely. BigHit Music, the record label for BTS, also released a statement confirming Jungkook's enlistment.

Jungkook and V are the first members of BTS to enlist in the military. The other members of the group are expected to enlist over the next few years.
